Celebrate Local Food Winter Potluck

This is a seasonal potluck organized by community members to celebrate food grown, raised or foraged on Quadra Island.

Please bring a dish to share that contains at least one local ingredient.

This is a chance to showcase what local food you are eating right now, in Winter!…from your garden or greenhouse or sprouting table, from your freezer or canning shelf or root cellar, or from your backyard chickens or recent foraging outing.  We are so lucky to have so many places to find, grow or store food at this time of year!

We will be doing our usual sharing circle at the beginning of the meal and it will be chance to share how you managed to use local ingredients in your dish.  Did you plant lots of kale in August?  Do you keep a light on in your chicken coop?  Did you find a way to protect your chard or celery from all the rain?  What did you find on your last walk in the forest?
