This presentation will provide information on training systems, pruning techniques, variety selection and suitable sites to successfully grow citrus and subtropical fruit trees on the south coast of British Columbia. Citrus varieties covered will include lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, kumquats, yuzu, and sudachi.  Sub-tropical varieties covered will include avocado, olives, pineapple guava (aka feijoa), Pomegranates, and loquats.

About Bob Duncan

Bob Duncan has over 50 years of experience growing tree fruits on Vancouver Island. He operates Fruit Trees & More, a specialty plant nursery and demonstration orchard near Sidney, British Columbia, with his wife Verna. They specialize in temperate, warm temperate, citrus, Mediterranean, and hardy subtropical fruit trees.  Their orchard includes many varieties of tree fruits including a large selection of citrus and subtropicals. Bob was trained as a Botanist and Entomologist.  He worked for the Canadian Forestry Service as an Entomologist for over 35 years.
