Bring your locally saved seeds! Ideally, please package seeds ahead of time if possible. We will also provide some recycled / reused envelopes and labelling tape for seeds!
Some seeds have been donated by Good Earth Seeds, West Coast Seeds, and more! Dan Jason from Salt Spring Seeds has donated some lovely books on seed saving, wild plants and gardening for climate change, and so we’ll also have a BOOK SWAP table at the event!
We’ll also have:
- Mogi Mann selling wild and heirloom seeds and food plants
- Emma Chandler selling garden tool belts/aprons and African baskets (great for harvesting plants, squashes, salads, etc)
Nice time to connect with other gardeners, find new local varieties, and more!
Sometimes people have brought plants, like strawberries or raspberry canes they’ve brought. If you’d like to bring live plants or starts, please RSVP, and help keep the QCC clean.
This event has always been funded by donation, which for the last few years has been a sliding-scale donation. All funds go to getting more seeds and/or educational materials from local seed companies (who often generously donate seeds and materials), and the fairly minimal materials we need for the exchange (eg. envelopes, labeling tape, etc.).
Suggestions, participants, and volunteers welcome.
Thanks so much – looking forward to seeing you!!!
